Introduction Diogo - Quinta da Fuzeira

Hello, I’m Diogo, from central Portugal. I grow Hayward and Dori kiwifruit and have around 3 hectares in total. Currently, I have some problematic areas in the orchard where the plants show low vigour and eventually die. For this reason, I have been trying to better understand the possible causes of the problem and test solutions that could make new plantings more resilient. One of the areas I am exploring is the use of more resilient rootstocks, namely Bounty, among other alternatives, to understand which ones are better adapted to my soil conditions and can perform better in replanting situations. I am very interested in exchanging experiences with other growers who are going through, or have already gone through, similar problems, especially related to plant decline/death, root problems and kiwifruit replanting. If anyone has experience with Bounty or other rootstocks, especially with Hayward, I would greatly appreciate any information on plant performance over the years, productivity and resilience under more difficult conditions. Thank you, and happy growing! 🥝 Diogo
